Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT 2011) is conducted for admission to M.Pharm programmes in Pharmaceutical Sciences. The test is conducted at al India level by The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, Vadodara under the guidance of National Monitoring Committee. The GPAT replaces GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) for Pharmacy students from 2010 onwards. Before 2010, GATE was conducted for admission of pharmacy students to M.Pharm. The first GPAT was held in 2010. GPAT 2011 is not meant for admission to B.Pharm course. It is valid only for postgraduate programme in Pharmacy.
To appear in GPAT 2011, students will have to register online at the official GPAT Pharmacy website http://www.gpat.in/index.php?gpat=howtoa . However, the examination is not online. GPAT application 2011 process is online only.
GPAT pharmacy examination is of 3 hours duration. The paper will be held only in paper pencil based mode. The examination will consists of multiple choice questions where a candidate will have to select the correct answer. There will be four options to each question in the paper. To mark the correct answer on Optical Response Sheet, candidate will have to darken the correct bubble against each question in paper. Each question in the examination will carry three Marks and there will be negative marking for wrong answers. For each incorrect answer, one mark will be deducted. It is advisable to mark answer to questions of which candidate is sure about. Leaving the question unattempted will result in no negative marking. The paper will have 150 questions in all.
GPAT Pharmacy test will be held on May 8, 2011 from 14.00 - 17.00 hrs. The syllabus for GPAT 2011 has been modified, so all students should go through the revised GPAT syllabus. The candidates aspiring to appear in GPAT exam 2011 can download the GPAT syllabus for the examination from the official website http://www.gpat.in/index.php?gpat=syllabus11 . The candidates can get the results on the website as well as at the GPAT office. The score card will be issued to all the candidates with positive scores irrespective of whether they qualified or not. The scores of GPAT 2011 can be used for one year from the date of declaration of GPAT 2011 results.
