Australasian Lawrence Aged Care College (ALACC) was officially established in November 2006. The College is one of Australasia's premier contemporary Aged Care, Allied Health and Management Educations Institute, which provide students with a ‘pathway’ into the Aged Care and Management industry from TAFE to University courses. The College is a Vocational Education and Training (VET) institute based in Melbourne, with campuses at Preston and Dandenong.

Australasian Lawrence Aged Care College is a premier Aged Care Institute in Melbourne offering Certificate Courses in Aged Care, Health Support Services and Disability Work, Diplomas and Advanced Diplomas in Community Welfare and Business Management.

ALACC offers nationally recognized, high quality accredited courses to the local and international market. The college is a registered Training Provider (RTO) and meets standards agreed to by Federal and State Governments in Australia. It offers courses in the areas of Aged Care, Community, Allied Health and Management. International students can also study certificate, diploma and advanced diploma courses, and on successful completion, apply for articulation into university degree programs.

Skills learned at ALACC

Students will develop basic skills in casework, counseling, case management, community development and group work. The course is designed to ensure a balance between theory and practice in social welfare work.

Qualification that students get

When students successfully complete this course you will be awarded the Diploma of Community Welfare Work. As part of the Australian Qualifications Framework, this program is nationally recognised. Students also have the option of studying the Diploma of Community Welfare Work concurrently with the Diploma of Community Development. On successful completion of both courses, they will be awarded the Diploma of Community Welfare Work and the Diploma of Community Development.

Career Opportunities

Seek employment in both government and non-government services as a qualified Welfare Worker, agency worker, community development officer. Undertake further study in a four year degree course in Social Work with advanced standing. Seek entry into a related degree course such as Bachelor of Community Development, specialising in community development or urban studies.

Salary Range: $40,000 AUD to $55,000 AUD per annum
