JAWAHARLAL INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY offers 4 years bachelor's degree courses in Mechanical, Electronics and Telecommunication, Computer Science, Information Technology . Admission to these courses is made through a merit list prepared on the basis of the score of the candidates in the PET. In these courses the reservation available to different reserved categories like SC, ST and OBC is as per the Government of India norms.

Domicile Requirements -

PET (Pre-Engineering Test):

• Govt. of India nominees, diploma holders and NRI are exempted from appearing in the PET.
• Only domicile candidates are eligible for selection for admission against M.P. Quota seats for Engg. Colleges, except candidates claiming admission under reserved seats of Sainik class or candidates of Displaced class of State of J & K.
• Domicile candidate should be a citizen of India and: Has been educated in an educational institution located in M.P. for at least three consecutive years during the 5 years period from the year of exam, or
  • Is a bonafide resident of M.P., or
  • Is a son or daughter of:
    • An employee or a pensioner of the Govt. of M.P., or
    • An employee of the Govt. of M.P. who died while in service of the State, or
    • An officer of the All India Services borne on the cadre of M.P., or
    • A Central Govt. employee including employee of Defence Establishments, employee of Post & Telegraph Dept. or the Railways or an employee of a public sector undertaking posted and stationed in M.P. on or before January 1 of the year of exam, till the date of admission, or
    • A person settled in M.P. under any resettlement scheme by the Govt. of Indian or the State Govt. of M.P.
• AICTE approved Institutions/ University Departments running technical Courses for engineering, architecture graduate degree, are given 15% seats in excess of the approved admission capacity to admit foreign Nationals / Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs). These excess seats will be exclusively for foreign students and under no circumstances; seats remaining vacant will be allotted to anyone other than foreign nationals of Indian Origin. Foreign Nationals / Persons of Indian Origin admitted through Indian Cultural Associated Council or Government of India in the form of committee to AICTE-approved Institutions will all be considered under this 15% limit.
• At Bhila Institute of Technology, MP domicile candidates are allocated 50% Free seats, while 50% Payment seats are allocated for candidates from other states.
• At Government Engineering College, there is a provision for reservation of 3 seats against nomination from Manipur, Mizoram and Nagaland.
• At Hitkarini College of Engineering & Technology, there is a provision for reservation of 5% seats for NRIs/NRI students.
• At Institute of Engineering & Technology, there is a provision for reservation of 5% seats for NRI/Foreign students.
• At Institute of Environmental Planning & Technology, there is a provision for reservation of 2 seats for NRIs.
• At Laxmi Narayan College of Technology, 5% seats are served for NRIs.
• At Maharana Pratap College of Technology, there is a provision for reservation of 5% seats for NRI students.
• At Shri Vaishnav Institution of Technology & Science, 5% seats are served for NRIs.
