SASTRA UNIVERSITY offers 4 years bachelor's degree courses in Civil, Computer Engg, Electrical & Electronics, Electronics and Telecommunication, Computer Science, Chemical Engg., Instrumentation Engg., Information Technology, Biotechnology . Admission to these courses is made through a merit list prepared on the basis of the score of the candidates in the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions. In these courses the reservation available to different reserved categories like SC, ST and OBC is as per the Government of India norms.

Domicile Requirements -

Tamil Nadu

Eligibility criteria for all the seats except for Other State quota in Anna University that are to be met by 1st of July in the year of admission are specified below:

• Candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu only are considered for admission.
• Tamil Nadu candidates with schooling in Tamil Nadu from VIII onwards need not enclose the Nativity Certificate. In case they have passed any of the VIII, IX, X and HSC or their equivalent Examination from schools situated outside Tamil Nadu, a copy of ?Nativity Certificate? should be enclosed with the applications for considering them as candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu.
• Other State candidates with schooling in Tamil Nadu from VIII onwards need not enclose ?Nativity Certificate?. They are eligible for open competition only.
• Children of Central Government Employees, otherwise not domicile of Tamil Nadu, may also apply and compete under open competition for admission, irrespective of their domicile. However, their parents or guardians (only if parents are not alive) are serving in Tamil Nadu continuously for the past five years at the time of submission of application which should be supported by enclosing a certificate from the employer of the parent of guardian, to that effect.
• Children of persons (not domicile of Tamil Nadu) employed in Private or Public or Government recognized Institutions, who are at the time of submission of application for admission, employed in Tamil Nadu continuously for the past five years may apply and compete for admission under open competition. They need to submit a certificate from the management enclosed along with the application that the person is a Permanent Employee of the Firm or Institutions concerned and that he or she is working in Tamil Nadu continuously for the past five years.
• Foreign Nationals are not eligible to apply directly. They can seek admission through government of India only.
• The candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu only are considered for communal reservations (if they are covered in the list of communities eligible to compete against the reserved quota). Certificate of social status obtained from other state will not be considered for communal reservation.
• A few seats in B.E., B.Tech Degree Programme in the Departments of Anna University, Chennai are reserved for candidates other than Tamil Nadu. One seat is exclusively reserved for Kashmiri migrants.
• At A.V.C. College of Engineering, there is a provision for reservation of seats for NRI students.
• At Adhiyamaan College of Engineering, 5% seats are reserved for NRIs.
• At Aarupadai Veedu Institute of Technology, 5% seats are reserved for NRI/Foreign students.
• At Amrita School Of Engineering (Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham University), 50% seats are free seats and 50% payment seats, which also include 5% for NRIs.
• At Anna University, candidate must be working within 65 km distance by road from Anna University main campus.
• Institution offering Regular and Self-Supporting programmes: Eligibility: (No Upper limit for SC/ST candidates of Tamil Nadu). Reservation: Besides reservation for SC/ST etc. reservations are also made for candidates sponsored by members of industrial consortium and for candidates belonging to states other than Tamil Nadu.
• At Annai Mathamal Sheela Engineering College. Selection Procedure: Admission is made on the basis of Entrance Exam. & qualifying Exam. These Entrance Exams. Are for the candidates T.N. and for those who satisfy the Nativity/Domicile requirements specified by the University.
• BE part-time courses In civil & Structural & Chemical Engg. The admission is restricted to those working or residing within a radius of 75 km from Annamalainagar.
• At Bannari Amman Institute Of Technology, Reservations: 19% seats for SC/ST and 5% for non resident Indians.
• At Bharathidasan Institute Of Engineering & Technology, There is a provision for reservation of 5% seats for NRI students.
• At Bharathidasan University, There is a provision for reservation of 5% seats for NRI students.
• At College Of Agricultural Engineering, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Reservation of seats: Seats are reserved for BC,SC,ST, Children of ex-servicemen, Repatriates from Ceylon and Burma, Tamil medium candidates, GOI nominees, Sons of farmers, Physically handicapped, Tamilians settled abroad, external college and private students of Indian origin and Livestock Inspectors as prescribed by the Govt. of Tamil Nadu, as per rules.
• At Erode Sengunthar Engineering College, Reservation: There is a reservation of 5% for Non-resident Indian/foreign students.
• At Gkm College Of Engineering & Technology, Reservation: There is a provision for reservation of 5% seats for NRI/Foreign students.
• At J.A. Institute Of Engineering & Technology, Reservation: exists for Non resident Indians.
• At Jaya Engineering College, Reservation: 5% exists for NRIs.
• At Kongu Engineering College, 5% Reservation exists for NRIs.
• At K S Rangasamy College Of Technology, 5% Reservation exists for NRIs..
• At Kumaraguru College Of Technology, Eligibility: 50% seats are free seats and the rest 50% are payment seats, which also include 5% for non resident Indians.
• At M.A.M College Of Engineering, Reservation: There is a provision for reservation of 10% seats for NRI students.
• At M.N.M Jain Engineering College, Reservation: There is a provision for reservation of 5% seats for NRI students.
• At Mookambigai College Of Engineering, 5% seats are reserved for Non resident Indians.
• At National Engineering College, K R Nagar, 50% seats are free seats and the rest 50% are payment seats, which also include 5% for non resident Indians.
• At Periyar Manimmai College Of Technology For Women, 5% seats are reserved for NRIs.
• At Sona College Of Technology, Reservation: 50% seats for NRI/Foreign students.
• At Sri Muthukumaran Institute Of Technology, Eligibility: 5% seats are reserved for Non Resident Indians/Foreign students.
• At Sri Sairam Engineering College, There is a provision for reservation of 5% sets for NRI students.
• At Sri Venkateswara College Of Engineering, Reservation: There is a provision for reservation for 5% seats for NRI students.
• At Ssm College Of Engineering, Reservation: 9 seats are reserved for NRI/Foreign students.
• At St. Michael?s College Of Engineering & Technology, Reservation: There is a provision for reservation of 5% seats for NRI students.
• At Tamil Nadu College Of Engineering, Reservation: There is a provision for reservation of 5% seats for NRI/Foreign students.
• At The Rajaas Engineering College (formerly Indian Engineering) Reservation: There is a provision for reservation of 5% seats for NRIs.
• At Thiruvalluvar College Fo Engineering & Technology, 5% NRI.
• At V.L.B. Janaki Ammal College Of Engineering And Technology, 50% seats are free seats and the rest 50% payment seats, which also include seats for NRIs.
• At V R S College Of Engineering And Technology, There is a provision for reservation of 9 seats for the NRIs
• At VIT University, (Formerly Vellore Institute of Technology), Eligibility: The applicant for admission should be a Resident Indian National and should have studied in schools located in India in the preceding two years. A pass in 10+2 or its equivalent with 50% average marks in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics or Biology (PCM/PCB) for Candidates belonging to SC/ST. Students hailing from Jammu & Kashmir and the North Eastern States of Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Tripura, Sikkim, Nagaland, Mizoram & Arunachal Pradesh.
