Rostov State Medical University

Rostov State Medical University was initially set up in the year 1915 as a medical faculty of the Donskoi University. However, by 1930, the university came into its own and became an independent medical university. Currently, there are five medical faculties in the Rostov State Medical University, which include peadiatrics medico prophylactics, general medicine, post-degree specialization, preparatory faculty for foreigners and medical college for nurses.

RSMU has one of the largest preparatory faculty with a specially constructed building for medico-biological disciplines. The building is fitted with computer rooms and lingaphone rooms for efficient instruction-delivery process.

Additionally, Rostov State Medical University has 64 departments with a faculty strength of over 600, out of which 70 are professors and doctorate holders, and 420 candidates of science. Every year more than 4000 students and 3000 doctors come to this university to specialize in courses of their choice. Presently, the university offers medical programs at the Under Graduate, Masters and Doctorate level.

Rostov State Medical University (RSMU) is located at the centre of the city. The university boasts of five fully furnished student hostels. RSMU also has its own clinic which is fitted out with 1000 beds. Besides this, the university also has its bases in the city hospitals. This helps students’ gain sound practical knowledge in areas of their choice.
