Jamia Millia Islamia - Mass Communication Program 2011
Jamia Millia Islamia is well known for its Mass Communication program. The M.A program in Mass Communication offered by the university covers wide range of subjects like Still Photography, Radio, Sound for the Media, Visual Communications, Communication Theory and Research and Traditional Forms of Entertainment in the first year to Media Appreciation, Video and Television and 16 mm Film Production. The curriculum for Jamia Mass Communication Program is designed in a way to encourage both academics and hands on production.

The duration for the Jamia Millia Islamia Mass Communication program is two years. The admission to Jamia Mass Communication is based on an admission test and an interview. The written entrance test consists of two papers Paper I and Paper II. Paper I is designed to test the knowledge and aptitude of candidates. Paper II evaluates a candidate on media analysis. The candidates who are shortlisted based on their performance in the written test are called for personal Interview. The candidates shortlisted for interview round should have secured at least 33% marks in the written entrance exam. The interview is conducted at MCRC, Delhi. The portfolio mentioning the media related activities should be carried by the candidates for the interview. During the interview, the portfolio of the candidate is assessed
Jamia University Delhi became deemed university in 1962. It became Central University in 1988 by an act of parliament. AJK Mass Communication research Center was set up in 1982 by the then Vice Chancellor of Jamia Millia University. The Institute of Mass Communication has collaboration with York University in Toronto and Canadian International Development Agency.
