Selection Criteria for IIM-A 2011- 2013
Much awaited CAT result is declared on the scheduled date on 12th January, 2011. The result brings reason to celebrate for many aspirants and the dreams of many have been shattered as they are no more in the CAT race. This year eight students scored 100 percentile in CAT score, while 19 other students have scored 99.9 percentile in second edition of this online test. Most of IIMs have already decided the selection procedure. Students are preparing hard to get through the GD/PI rounds. IIM-A tops the chart and rated as first choice of aspirants. Most of the students want to take admission in IIM-A, there are many reasons behind this, and one of the top reason is high standard of education and notable placement. Most of top rankers want to take admission in their desired IIM. IIM-A has declared the GD/PI Criteria for selection of candidates for its PG program.

Qualifying the IIMA Minimum Cut-offs for CAT
The IIMA minimum cut-offs are applied to candidates' CAT scores. The minimum cut-offs for DA, ST, and SC categories are lower than the minimum cut-offs for the other categories. These minimum cut-offs are:
- DA Category: DA candidates must have a minimum percentile in each section 65 and > 65
- ST Category: ST candidates whose minimum percentile in each section 55 and > 55
- SC Category: SC candidates whose percentile in each section 75 and > 75
- NC-OBC: NC-OBC candidates whose minimum percentile in each section 84 and > 84
- General Category: General candidates whose minimum percentile in each section 94 and > 94
A total of 917 candidates met the IIM-A minimum cut-offs for CAT. The number of candidates in each category who met the respective minimum cut-off is as follows:
DA - 21, ST - 55, SC - 108, NC-OBC - 193, and other (general) - 540 -
Qualifying Pre-Screening Criteria
Those candidates who met the IIMA minimum cut-offs for CAT are considered for further pre-screening. For DA and ST candidates, the pre-screening criteria remained same as the IIMA minimum cut-offs for those categories. Pre-screening criteria are:
- DA Candidates: Total percentile not less than 80 with an application rating of >=16
- ST Candidates: Total percentile not less than 80 with an application rating of >=16
- SC Candidates: Total percentile not less than 80 with application rating of >=17
- NC-OBC Candidates: Total percentile not less than 94 with application rating of >=19
- General Candidates: Total percentile not less than 99 with application rating of >=21

Short listing candidates for Personal Interview
DA Candidates:
All 21 candidates who met the IIMA minimum cut-offs for CAT are called for interview.
ST Candidates:
All 55 candidates who met the IIMA minimum cut-offs for CAT are called for interview.
SC Candidates:
The 108 candidates who met the pre-screening criteria were considered for further evaluation.
NC-OBC Candidates:
The 193 candidates who met the pre-screening criteria were considered for further evaluation.
Other (General) Candidates:
The 540 candidates who met the pre-screening criteria were considered for further evaluation.
Academic Performance (AP) values are assigned as given in Table 1 to 4 below.
