What is AIEEE 2011

All India Engineering Entrance Examinations (AIEEE) is one of the most popular exams, taken by over 9 lakh students in India. It allows you admissions into most prestigious colleges in India, after your class 12th examination. AIEEE 2011 scores are taken for admissions into the esteemed National Institute of Technologies, considered to be the technology grounds of India. Also, state level institutes and private institutes fall under the ambit of AIEEE colleges in India.

AIEEE 2011 Exam

You did not clear the IITs and are now looking forward to AIEEE 2011 results . With IIT - JEE results already out and AIEEE results on the anvil, there is much hope floating around. AIEEE, held on the 25th of April 2010, was quite conventional, sticking to the pattern. The total paper was of 432 marks, with 144 marks ascribed to each sections. Entrance examination was of 3 hours having objective questions from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics with equal weightage to each subject. Each question had four options. A negative marking of 1/4th marks is expected for incorrect answers.

While there was a general feeling that paper was on the tougher side, especially the mathematics section, overall the paper was on expected lines and cutoffs should be on the similar pattern as last year. AIEEE 2011 is expected to be on similar lines. Here's how AIEEE cutoff are expected to be this year:

Expected AIEEE 2011 marks and AIEEE 2011 rank

Expected Marks Expected Rank
Above 375 Top 50
374 - 320 51 - 500
319 - 300 501 - 1000
299 - 249 1001 - 5000
248 - 217 5001 - 10000
216 - 186 10001 - 20000
185 - 165 20001 - 30000
164 - 140 30001 - 50000
139 - 120 50001 - 75000
119 - 105 75001 - 100000
Below 105 > 100000

Now the obvious question in your mind would be - what is a good rank that can get you admission into one of the better AIEEE colleges in India. The top 20 colleges that are under AIEEE, hold very good prospects for any student. A student can make it to a good course in these colleges with a rank which is below 10000. Besides, do not get so much bothered if you have not. Do take their counseling session and find out the college that you've qualified for. With many additions of colleges every year under the AIEEE, you might gain admission into a good college.

Here's the list of AIEEE colleges in India that you can seek admission into via your AIEEE score.
