MBA students confident of good placements in 2010
As the global economy limps back to normalcy, the young budding managers are excited about the upward trend in the placement this year.
The summer placements at "IIMs":http://cat.learnhub.com/ that took place in the last months of 2009 confirm the high level of optimism amongst the MBAs. The placement process in 2009 saw an exciting range of roles and opportunities on offer for management students. Leading financial firms, FMCG companies, global consulting firms gave attractive offers to the students at the recently concluded summer placements.
Finance remained the top pick with 44 per cent of "IIM-A":http://cat.learnhub.com/students opting for roles in finance, investment banking, private equity, corporate banking and treasury roles. Marketing roles grabbed an 18 per cent share with consulting and general management being the next two preferred domains followed by IT, at 11, 18 and 9 per cent, respectively.
A great summer internship season means that companies foresee good times in the financial year of 2011-12, the year in which these students will graduate and be eligible for jobs. A survey indicates that around 77% of management students polled on India as their preferred work location.
