Entrance exams and important dates

As per the Medical Council of India’s rules, all medical universities in India are required to organize admission timings and admission process in such a way that teaching in the first semester commences by 1st of August every year.

Supplementary examination may be conducted within six months so that the students who pass can join the main batch and the failed students will have to appear in the subsequent year.

Preparing for various MBBS/MD entrance tests

1. Written test

Although there are no general guidelines as every testing procedure is unique, here are some things you can bear in mind:

  • Attempt a few questions every day.
  • Tackle the list of topics that are most difficult for you to learn. Devote some time to them each day.
  • Study sample and preceding year test papers carefully and scan them for frequency of important topics.
  • Keep separate notes for each subjects.
  • If it helps, use memonics for memorizing things.
  • Think positive.
  • Last, but not the least work diligently. Nothing can replace hard work.
